LATRA

LATRA is an organisation based in Lesvos-Greece with the vision to Build The World Better, through state-of-the-art research and innovation at the frontlines of 21st Century European challenges that respond to the most pressing needs and challenges faced by European citizens. LATRA ensures that all citizens, including those in geographically-remote regions, and socio-economically disadvantaged communities, are equitably included in all aspects of European society, ranging from education and economy to governance. LATRA focuses on programmes investigating the future of European democracy, climate & energy as well as socio-cultural transformations. LATRA’s scope of work includes advancing digital literacy promoting sustainability, fostering entrepreneurship, and championing social inclusion. LATRA has participated in more than 50 transnational cooperation projects funded by EUs most recognised institutions including the European Commission, European Cultural Foundation, European Union National Institutes of Culture, Open Society Foundations for Europe, Nordic Council of Ministers, Creative Industries Fund Netherlands and more. For its work on the humanitarian field of Lesvos, LATRA has been awarded & nominated for the Intercultural Achievement Recognition Award by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Distributed Design Award, the Civic Europe Challenge, the Blooom Award, the ARUP Global Research Challenge, the International UNCOVER Design Prize, the Global B.Creative Competition, the Council of Europe and UN Habitat.
