Title: Emerging ITC Framework
This report presents the first iteration of INTRACOMP’s ITC framework: CultureComp: The Intercultural and Transcultural Competence Framework. Producing CultureComp involved a three-phase method:
1) Preparation, including design and discussion workshops to draft and trouble-shoot the framework, drawing on project deliverables D1.1 (Rowe et al., 2025) and D1.2 (Lämsä et al., 2025).
2) Systematic Feedback and Validation via two qualitative forums with internal colleagues and external experts to review the draft framework.
3) Refinement through the integration of feedback to produce a public-facing and usable version of the framework.
Guided by our enquiry into the conditions required for ITC to flourish, this research task has produced three interrelated outcomes:
- The CultureComp Framework (visualisation and text; Figure 0.2)
- The CultureComp online resource
- The CultureComp Handbook (a user’s guide; Part II of this report)
