The European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC) was founded in 1994 to promote dialogue and cooperation between socio-cultural centres throughout Europe. Today, ENCC is composed of 150+ members and reaches over 6000 cultural organisations in 38 countries, with very diverse structures, practices and audiences. The ENCC community aligns on values of cultural equality, active citizenship, diversity, and sustainability. ENCC’s main action lines are capacity building, networking, and advocacy. In practical terms, this means the organisation of meetings, conferences, training and staff exhange programmes, participation in research and data gathering, creation of tools and publications, and connection with policy-makers and other actors from the cultural sector. ENCC is mainly funded by the Creative Europe networks strand of the European Union.
