Giuseppe Massa (Palermo, 1978) trained with Claudio Collovà, Antonio Latella, Franco Scaldati and Matteo Bavera. In 2006 he founded together with Fabrizio Ferracane and Giuseppe Provinzano the company Sutta Scupa, named after his first written and directed work. The show lands a long tour in Italy and Europe, some scenes are included by Wim Wenders in the movie “Palermo Shooting”. Some of his texts are staged by Latella (Mamma Mafia, Schauspielhaus Koln; Kamikaze Number Five, Napoli Teatro Festival). In 2016 Editoria e Spettacolo published a collection of his texts. His shows are hosted in France, Germany, Austria, Romania, Poland, Greece; in Italian festivals and theaters: Piccolo Teatro, Roma Europa Festival, Orestiadi di Gibellina, Festival Inequilibrio, Teatro dell’Elfo, Primavera dei Teatri. Since 2015 he has been directing the multicultural shows of Sutta Scupa. In 2019 he is a guest of the University of Melbourne where he directs, at the association for refugee women Wellsprings, a workshop on Antigone Power by Ubah Cristina Ali Farah.
